Remedy – 2: Triphala

Materials : Triphala

Triphala is a powdered formula that comprises Haritaki, Amla, and Bibhitaki. First the three items are powdered and mix with warm water. The quantities to be taken are a mix half (1/2) teaspoon of triphala and one – fourth (1/4) cup lukewarm water. Stir and sip. Materials used: Fenugreek seeds

Remedy – 4: Roasted Veggie Explosion

Materials Used: Vegetables, Olive oil, Spices

Ingredients:

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons (15 to 30 ml) olive oil
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 red or yellow bell pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
  • 1 bunch asparagus, woody bottoms cut off
  • 2 beets, peeled and quartered
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1⁄4 cup (7 g) crushed fresh rosemary
  • Sea salt (optional).

Procedure:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C, or gas mark 6).
  • Spray or brush a baking sheet with olive oil.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the vegetables in a bowl and toss to coat them.
  • Spread the vegetables and garlic evenly across a baking sheet. Sprinkle with the rosemary and the sea salt to taste, if using.
  • Roast for 15 minutes and then flip the vegetables and roast for another 10 minutes.
  • They should be browned but not overcooked.

Other Remedies

Satsuma

Satsuma is rich in fiber. Also it has potential to lower and control insulin levels by preventing the transformations of sugar into fats. Satsuma can be used by diabetics to keep the sugar levels under control.

Licorice root tea

It is known that licorice root extracts are excellent substitutes for sugar. When you are making your regular tea, then you should add licorice tea instead of sugar. You will get health and sweetness together in one cup.

  • Non starchy vegetables like leafy vegetables, broccoli and cauliflower
  • Avoid foods that are “bad carbohydrates” – high in sugar with little fiber, white bread and pastries, pasta from white flour, fruit juices etc.
  • One simple strategy to help you make good food choices and eat appropriate portion sizes is to divide up your plate into 3 divisions i.e one ½ : fruit and non-starchy vegetables, one quarter ¼ : whole grains and another half quarter ¼: protein- rich foods.
